Tech Tuesday – Mini Sessions

My friend Soozie from Photography by Soozie was shooting mini sessions on our property when I grabbed this shot. Two things: I think Soozie is a fantastic photographer, and I loved when she decided to offer her mini-sessions at our property.

This was just one of her sets, she had a beautiful vignettes thanks to her collaboration with Emily from The Virginia Lynn Co. If you are looking for a stylist, please check out Emily’s website!

I love the sepia tone of this image, but in the before/after below, I share the color corrected version as well.

Metering mode: pattern
Focus points: single
Focus mode: one-shot

This image was taken on October 18th at 4:07pm. It was an unseasonable cold day, the skies were mostly cloudy and overcast.

Using a single focus point, I focused on her eyes with an aperture of f/2.8. Because there was only one person in the photo, I shot wide open with my favorite lens for the shallow depth of field.

Below is the original and edited versions, I decided to tone this image with a vintage film look as I wanted the content of the photo to match the processing. Color and light adjustments were accomplished in Lightroom.
