Bridal Party Posing

Nikon D700
24-70mm f/2.8 lens
Shutter Speed: 1/3200
ISO 500
f/2.8

Shooting mode: aperture priority
Metering mode: center weighted average
Focus points: single
Focus mode: one-shot

This photo was taken on May 25th at 3:50pm. The sky was overcast, but I had plenty of light.

I choose ISO 500 because because I wanted a fast shutter speed (as always).

Using a single focus point, I focused on the contrast between their faces. Because I shot with a large aperture (shallow depth of field), the bridal party in the background is out of focus.

Below is the original and edited versions. Color and light adjustments were accomplished in Lightroom, slight skin softening in Photoshop. The key to this edit was lifting the shadows… notice the ivy in the top right of the photo.
