Chaya and Nate were married at Swallow Falls State Park in Deep Creek, Maryland, and held their reception at The Lake-Lift Lodge. Chaya and Nate currently reside in Michigan, but Chaya’s parents live in Deep Creek.
Autumn is my absolute favorite time of year. The colors, the brisk air, the smell of the leaves as they change… I love it all. So the colors that Chaya choose were perfect for me.
They decided to see each other prior to the beautiful outdoor ceremony.
Chaya’s Mom Judy is full of energy and I think this image captures her perfectly.
The location for the formals was gorgeous, we were on the top of the water fall at the park.
This image is overlooking the falls and I think it would make a beautiful postcard.
Back lighting and flare… who could ask for more?
Look at this bride, not only is she warm and caring, she’s gorgeous!
They held their ceremony in this building. It was intimate, fun and light-hearted… I think the guests really enjoyed themselves.
Craig shot the image above while I took the one below. I wanted to make mine a little funky so I cross processed it in Photoshop.
I cannot say enough about my 50 1.2 lens. It was on my camera for almost the entire day.
It was an invigorating (chilly and windy) day, but just as we were about to leave the ceremony location, the clouds opened up to show the blue sky. For both the image above and below, I was laying on the ground, because, at 6 months pregnant, there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for my couples. Even if it takes me a little longer to get back up. LOL
Chaya and Nate’s reception was at a private residence that is perfectly situated on Deep Creek Lake… AND the other side is at the bottom of the ski slope. Hence the name Lake Lift Lodge.
This was where they held their cocktail hour. There were candles everywhere and the ambiance was gorgeous.
Next to the lake just before we left. In the full size image you can see the fog on the water.
Chaya’s best friend Catharine said it best when she toasted the bride and groom, “spend 5 minutes with Chaya and she’ll know you’re entire life story.” She was asking me all day about my family, how I was doing, did I need anything, etc. I kept telling her that it was her wedding day and not to worry about me or anyone else! She’s such a caring person and I can’t thank her enough for inviting us to be a part of their celebration.
