It is with a heavy heart that I am posting about the passing of my sweet mother-in-law, Carolyn. This photograph was taken a little over a year ago, shortly after she received the diagnosis of ovarian cancer.

This photograph was taken in Dallas on July 3rd, when we celebrated her 71st birthday party with her in the hospital.

She passed away on Wednesday, July 21st at her home surrounded by family. Carolyn is in a much better place, one without pain, sickness, and tears. Craig and I are flying to Dallas tomorrow for her memorial service on Wednesday. It’s very difficult to articulate what Carolyn meant to me, but one thing is easy to share: she raised the most wonderful, caring, giving, kind man and I am extremely privileged to call him my husband.

**UPDATE** We found a home!! His name is now Walter and he has a loving family. So excited and happy for him!

This cute, little guy was found near my parent’s home in the Raccoon Township/Shippingport area last week. We’re looking for his family, or a suitable home. He’s really sweet, does well with other dogs and is great with kids… click here for proof.

Baby Bennett’s Journey – Update from Kelly Frey

It’s so hard to believe that sweet Bennett is seven months old. WTAE posted an update on their website with video and photos of Bennett. Looking back on the day Bennett was born still brings tears to my eyes; his birth, an absolute miracle. This photo, of Jason touching his son for the first time, is one of my favorites.

March for Babies 2010

Had a wonderful time celebrating the March of Dimes March for Babies this morning. To me, this photo embodies the spirit of the walk.

This team was releasing balloons to honor their angel.

Babies hold such a special place in my heart, and I am honored to volunteer for the March of Dimes and Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.

Thank you to the coordinators for asking me to participate again this year, and a special thanks to my friend Michelle for coming out to assist.

I just realized haven’t posted pictures of my sweet babies recently, mostly because I post everything on www.heatherandcraig.com, but I thought I would share this image from Saturday. We were so excited to play in the snow!! This was really the first year that Evan (affectionately referred to as Mister) could enjoy the snow. Of course when I say ‘enjoy the snow,’ I mean that he played in it for a few minutes and then started crying because it was getting all over his shoes.

I used my Nostalgic Photoshop action on this image, it’s one of the actions that we will be creating in the Advanced Photoshop workshop next month. I created two versions of this action, the other is called Nostalgic Lullaby and I use it on some of my newborn images.
