HP Digital Solutions Cooperative (DSCOOP) Recap

Returned home from Orlando yesterday after one of the most amazing and thrilling experiences of my professional career. Speaking on behalf of HP to printers, lab owners and paper providers was both an honor and pleasure. I was overwhelmed by all of the passion and creativity, these people love substrate!! (Fancy word for paper). The entire event was flawlessly executed and incredibly impressive. Everything was first class and the education was invaluable.

I am posting images of my business card because I ran out towards the end of the conference. A special thanks to Marathon Press (one of my favorite labs) for providing me with these beautiful die cut cards, everyone thought that they were so unique.

This was my first time speaking at an international event, and I am thrilled to have made new friends from all over the world (my session was translated in four languages – awesome!). When I first arrived on Thursday, I decided to check out the ballroom where I would be speaking. When I walked into the keynote, I was overwhelmed by the size of this room. This photo (taken with my phone) only captures about half of the room, capacity: 1,800. Whoa, wait, what??? I immediately sent a text my HP handler to ask her why I was in this ENORMOUS ballroom. She indicated that they would most likely section off part of the room for my presentation. It turns out that they didn’t, but the room was nowhere near this full. Whew.

My presentation, specifically geared towards why I choose to partner with HP Indigo solution providers, went better than I could have ever hoped. The feedback thus far has been very positive and I could not be happier. I cannot thank everyone enough for their kind words and encouragement, I especially appreciate the attendees that took the time to speak to me after my presentation.

The Pittsburgh Social Exchange

Last week I had the pleasure of taking a few photographs for the leadership team of The Pittsburgh Social Exchange.Â They are an organization dedicated to helping professionals and businesses thrive in Pittsburgh. I like them because their approach isn’t typical, they are less structured, yet more progressive in terms of providing a venue for networking.

I met Michelle Silverman (one of the co-founders) last month at an event where the Seinfeld Soup Nazi spoke. I told him to call me if ever needs a wedding photographer. Did you know that he’s actually pretty vertically challenged?

Scott Drudy is the other co-founder, and he also the owner of Pittsburgh Trade Alliance.

Susan Paff is the public relations officer for the Pittsburgh Social Exchange and she also operates her own agency, Ideality Communications, LLC.

Rose Harris is the visual coordinator, responsible for print and web materials, you can view her work at www.RoseHarrisDesign.com.

They are a very talented group of individuals, and they embody the entrepreneurial spirit.

Jack is the unofficial mascot. I was hoping to give these images an edgier feel, so I processed them differently than my weddings.

I had such a great time hanging with them and hope to attend more of their events in the future!

Private Consult w/Tina | Pittsburgh Photography Consultation

You may remember Tina from her sister Jessica’s wedding last year, or you may remember her from when she shot Stefanie and Tom’s wedding with us. Although she lives in Philadelphia, I’ve been mentoring Tina since we first met as she is starting her own photography business. A few months ago, she was considering a move to Pittsburgh and I was really, really hoping to make her a part of the Weddings by Heather team while she ramped up her own business. I guess it was not meant to be as she just purchased a home in the Philadelphia and will be living there indefinitely. Boo.

Anyway, she stopped by for another private consultation today and we had a great time! We mostly talked about off-camera lighting and websites. She is well on her way!

Congratulations Chaya and Nate!

They are expecting their first child! I had a blast documenting Chaya and Nate’s wedding in September of 2007 at Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.

Lots of fabulous details at their wedding.

I’m so excited for you guys, I wish we lived closer so that I could take some photos!

Mosaic Linens

I visited the Mosaic showroom recently to order linens for Craig’s upcoming birthday celebration and fell in love with all of their fabrics.

Wow, the choices were seemingly endless, one gorgeous linen after the next.

They have a host of beautiful and unique chair coverings.

I had the privilege of documenting Amy and Kevin’s wedding this past October at Nemacolin Woodlands, and I recently learned that they are expecting their first child!

What a gorgeous October day.

I was just going to post one picture from their wedding, but forgive my while I reminisce… we had such an amazing day.

There is one thing that is for sure… this baby is going to be very good looking!
