Kelly Frey and Family Celebrate Bennett’s First Birthday

I will never make it through this post without tears. It is so wonderfully amazing that Kelly, her husband Jason, and their families recently celebrated Bennett’s first birthday. Bennett has a rare brain disorder, but thanks to the power of prayer, and the advanced Pittsburgh medical community, Bennett is growing by leaps and bounds.
The way he connects with Kelly is beyond heartwarming, he studies her every move. WTAE posted an update last week, click here to watch the video.
They have been teaching him sign language to communicate (although he can hear) and he uses his hands very well to express what he needs.
And he has the most beautiful blue eyes! His paci reads, “chick magnet.” Oh and I even got to hold him for the first time ever! When I was with them when he was first born, he was too little to hold, but now he’s a big, healthy boy!
He and Kelly were having a conversation and it was the cutest thing ever. He is cooing and jibbering like crazy. And remember, the doctors counseled Kelly and Jason to abort the pregnancy, citing his brain disorder and the fact that he wouldn’t live after birth. LOOK AT THIS ANGEL: he is alive, happy and has touched so many lives. A true miracle, a gift from God.

Big brother Luca and I always have fun together.
I have been photographing this wonderful family since Luca was only a year old, they are absolutely delightful and I enjoy spending time with them. Love my job!
Couldn’t you just eat her up! She is soooooo cute!

I first met Kevin one year ago when I photographed his newborn session. It’s so hard to believe that it’s already been a year, he has grown so much!

We had so much fun at the playground, and check out his wild hair!

Getting some love from his mom. I love taking pictures of families, but especially babies when they are about a year old. They are just so sweet.

This cute, little guy is just learning how to walk and it is the cutest thing EVER!

Rachel & Family | Family Portrait Photography

John Patrick stopped over with his parents a few weeks ago to take some pictures for their Christmas cards.

You probably recognize my long time friend Rachel, we’ve been hanging out since high school.

I won’t lie to you. For 90% of the session, this is what I saw. A sweet, little baby bum running away from me.

JP is so cute, but he makes me work really, really hard for the images I get. This kid never slows down.

And even when you restrain him to get a picture, his mind is wondering… “where will I run next?” Thankfully, we were able to capture some great images… and then I took a nap.

Fall is absolutely my favorite time of year, I love photographing in the soft, beautiful light. I just wish that the days lasted longer, the season lasted longer and that I could somehow manufacture more time. Because I love sessions like this and I would love to shoot more of them.

I had so much fun with Erin and her kiddos a few weeks ago, and the sun was kind enough to illuminate the trees in the background for me.

This age is a lot of fun because not only can you communicate with them in terms of posing, but they actually LISTEN.

And look at how well he did when I asked him to give his sister some love!

Playing in the leaves is always fun!

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Kevin, Amy and 3 month old Vaughn at their home in Avon Lake, Ohio. Have you ever seen such sweet lips?

Whenever I am with Amy and Kevin, the stars seem to align: their wedding day in October of last year was spectacular, and Amy’s maternity session early this year was wonderful. And then, this sweet little boy falls asleep in the cutest position.

It’s not easy to catch a smile like this with a 3 month old baby, but Vaughn was so happy to see me!

I’m pretty sure that we connected straight away and he melted my heart when he looked at me with those big, blue eyes.

Amy is as gorgeous as every and seems to have adjusted to motherhood very easily.

Hooray for happy babies!

I love seeing Mr. GQ with his son, it’s very heartwarming.
